Introduction

Welcome to the Psalm 82 Project. Still trying to figure out exactly what the "project" is. I guess the number one reason to choose this name is to get you to read Psalm 82. Many people haven't, it doesn't sound that much like a Psalm. More like a prophet such as Micah or Amos.

For me this Psalm contains the essense of the Gospel. I was first turned on to Psalm 82 after hearing a lecture by John Dominic Crossan. He was making a point that to understand Jesus one must first understand the character of Jesus' God. God of wrath? God of love? God of the Law? etc. etc. Crossan offered up Psalm 82 as the Hebrew text that shows us the God that we come to know in Jesus Christ. That was about 5 or so years ago I think and I've been hooked on Psalm 82 ever since.

So enjoy. And check back. I may actually think of something else to say....
